Dr. Black was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Cleveland, TN at the age of 8. He graduated with honors (summa cum laude) from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in Chemistry/Biology. Dr. Black attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV and served his residency through Floyd Medical Center in Rome, GA. Dr. Black has been in private practice in Sale Creek, TN since 2005. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Association of Family Practice. He is affiliated with Rhea Medical Center in Dayton, TN.

The scope of Dr. Black's practice includes traditional family practice, seeing patients of all ages from infant to the elderly. He sees patients both in the office and in the hospital, with personal interests in the prevention of disease, diabetes, hypertension, coronary arterial disease, and minor in-office procedures.

Dr. Black is married to Erin Black and has 2 daughters (Anna who is married to Bryce Howard & Micah who is married to Gavin Stewart and their son, Jett). He enjoys spending time with family, outdoors, his church family, and traveling on missions trips.
